Greetings from the Watershed Sensing (WATSEN) Lab at Plymouth State University (PSU)!
PSU students Rachel Allen, Elizabeth Jurkowski, Shannon Brunelle, and Sophie Adams have been working on four major projects this summer through the Forest Observation Sensing Transformative Experience in Research (FOS-TER) program at PSU. Our research mentors, Dr. Mark Green, Dr. Eric Kelsey, and Daniel Evans, have been leading these projects.
Shannon and Sophie are looking at water isotope differences using a Picarro Analyzer and a Los Gatos instrument, along with analyzing meteorological data and plotting a forest inventory at the Flux Tower in the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest.
Rachel and Liz are working on building micrometeorological stations to be placed in Hubbard Brook and on Mount Washington, along with analyzing data from a dead log in Watershed 3 at the HBEF. If you’re interested in learning more about these projects, please attend our sessions on Wednesday, July 11 at 15:11 and 15:16 at the annual Cooperators’ Meeting, and stay tuned for more blog posts detailing the status of the projects.
